on Your Heating Bills

Renewable heat is simply heat from renewable sources. This is where you decide that instead of using traditional fossil fuel systems such as (Oil, Gas, Coal) you will use renewable technology for your heat needs. Renewable fuels from biomass include wood chip or wood pellets. These biomass fuels are classified as Carbon Neutral and do not contribute to global warming.

The Fuel of the Future

Ireland has abundance of man-made forests that offer the fastest growing environment in Europe. These forest provide valuable commercial timber supplies and also small diameter round wood that can be converted to wood pellet fuel and wood chip fuel, for biomass boiler fuels

The Support Scheme For Renewable Heat (SSRH), is a government led scheme introduced to help kick-start the transition to low carbon heating in Ireland, giving help to Commercial and Industrial businesses to move away from fossil fuels such as (Gas and Oil).

The scheme provides financial incentives to businesses including public sector bodies to help bridge the gap between the cost of renewable heating systems and those of conventional alternatives.

This scheme will enable Ireland move towards low carbon alternatives and to minimize the effects of climate change, as well as being the main driver towards Ireland’s goal to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels and increase the energy generated from renewable sources in the heat sector by approximately 3%, this is equivalent to 200,000 tones of oil equivalent.

What is the S.S.R.H Scheme?

Once an installation has been approved the tariff rate will be fixed payments that will made on quarterly basis by the scheme’s administrators SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland). Payments will be calculated by the actual metered heat output of the technology over that quarter with designated tariff.

The Process

  1. Initial Enquiry

Following an initial enquiry, one of our experts will discuss your requirements with you to understand your situation, your system requirements and will organise a site visit with you to survey your site. You will then be asked to arrange an onsite Survey if appropriate.

  2. Onsite Survey

Following an initial enquiry, one of our experts will discuss your requirements with you. Meridian Vortex Ltd are Industry experts that give you advice and carry out an onsite survey. Our team can provide you with a detailed plan and will offer you our expert advice on design requirements for a new biomass system.

  3. Full Design

Following a site survey a full design specification of your system will be created by our team.

  4. Proposal

Following a completed design specification a proposal will be provided. This will confirm the system agreed, related costs, and sets out our terms and conditions.

  5. Application to the
    SEAI

Once you are happy with the proposed solution we will complete and submit the application to the SEAI for the Support Scheme for Renewable Heat (SSRH).

  6. Project Financing

We can introduce various funding models to ensure viable plans to finance the project.

  7. Project Timescales

At this stage, your final deliveries and timescales will be confirmed with you. These will be planned with the utmost consideration for your circumstances in order to minimise any interruption or inconvenience while ensuring that the installation is as seamless as possible.

  8. Installation and Commissioning

Our team will begin any preparatory building or installation works on site as soon as is practical. The boiler/biomass equipment is then installed along with the required technical, electrical and other utility connections.

  9. Training

At the end of the installation as the project is commissioned, we ensure that you are confident in all machinery operation features . This will ensure that it will provide you with a long and reliable service, an optimised return on investment and most importantly that it is safe.

  10. Ongoing Support

Meridian Vortex Ltd will be available to ensure that all ongoing requirements of the SSRH are met and satisfied as well as the operational requirements of keeping the biomass boiler operational.

  11. Warranty, Service and Maintenance

Your system must be maintained in line with the manufacturers recommendations during the fifteen years of the SSRH programme. Regular servicing is essential to validate the warranty, to ensure maximum efficiency of the boiler, and to ensure the service longevity of the boiler required by SEAI and to deliver optimum return on your investment. A range of Maintenance plans can be tailored to meet your requirements by Meridian Vortex Ltd
